I want to run one on myself to see what pops up. My record was expunged and I just want to make 100% sure everything has been wiped clean(which im pretty sure it has because I've purchased two pistols in the past 2 years as well as having my CWP). But I just want to see it for myself before applying for some state govt positions that would require security clearances. i googled but as you can imagine, a slew of results popped up and I have no clue which ones are legit. So can anyone recommend a site or service to use? I know we have members who are in HR that routinely run checks. Just looking to get pointed in the right direction. Thanks in advance guys.

I know just from posting here several crimes you've committed, so I imagine the government would have no trouble finding it

State police headquarters in Baton Rouge, 26 bucks I think

eta: if you're trying to get a clearance, they have different depths they go depending on which clearance you are trying to get. It's more than just a bg check, they interview your family and shite sometimes too

get yourself arrested, and then during the discovery process ask the state for a copy of your rap sheet

I can answer this without you running the check.

Expungement laws specifically exempt pre-employment checks for sensitive positions and background checks associated with security clearances among other exemptions. Meaning that you need to go ahead and affirmatively disclose your history and explain it. Have certified copies of the dismissal/adjudication and the expungement order to attach to your application. Having a criminal history won't necessarily keep you from getting a job or clearance. Lying on the application will 100% keep you from getting either.

Thanks. If Louisiana does it, I'm sure MS does as well. I'll have to take a vacation day and check it out.

Would the state check be as accurate as say, MEPS?

That's the answer I was looking for. My lawyer told me I would never have to disclose anything for any reason. My lawyer turned out to be a dumbass. That's why I'm looking for a second opinion on the matter.

So just because it's officially "expunged," you can google your previous faults, why wouldn't you think the new employer would?

They won't care if it's expunged or not if a google search brings it up. They'll move on to the next one.

Your local Sheriffs Office may also run a RAP sheet for you for a fee. Call and ask.

I had a TS, TS-SCI or Public Trust clearance for 20 years. If it is an actual government security clearance and not some "clearance" from a private employer (i.e. we trust you to handle our money) then everything will be on the table.

Like I said before, not disclosing it is just as bad as killing kittens for fun in their eyes. It is considered "lack of candor" or an attempt to deceive which is an automatic denial of clearance. You might as well be a Russian Spy at that point.
