It can also cause psychosis in some people. Happened to a relative of mine. I won't touch the stuff.

Ive had the flu once in my life. I was 16 and I was taking tamiflu. I had some of the most terrifying moments of my life that weak. Paranoia, voices, hearing things walking behind me while laying in bed up against the wall.
Now i have no idea if it was psychosis brought about by tamiflu or just fever dreams but its nothing that im in a hurry to repeat

Highly overrated IMO..It was prescribed for me two weeks ago and at $92 for 10 pills, is way too high for the little good it does!

Tamiflu is always understocked/undermanufactured. Always.

$92? What kinda insurance do you have?

Went to the doctor today with flu symptoms. He didn't recommend Tamiflu. Said it causes stomach issues and diarrhea while only shortening the flu by about 12 hours. Talked me out of it. Also said it weakens the immune system leaving you the possibility of catching something else. Basically recommended toughening it out for the next 5 or 6 days.
Your doctor lied to you, unfortunately. This stuff works miracles. Instead of feeling like death for a week you can feel better in about a 1-2 days. Removing all symptoms.

A lot of insurers don’t cover it because they know it doesn’t decrease the likelihood of hospitalization and don’t care if you feel better a few days faster.
If it’s not covered, use a GoodRx coupon. You don’t have to print the coupon, just show it to the pharmacy staff. If a Walmart in your area has it, use this one:

Tamiflu for meth sounds like fake news to this baw
The chemistry don’t make a lick of sense

Biggest pharma scam ever.

True. I’ve seen this for the past 10 years and believe it’s intentional. The price rises rapidly throughout flu epidemics. My acquisition cost for the generic currently exceeds the brand because it’s more likely to be covered, therefore is in higher demand. It’s not the pharmacist’s fault, it’s the manufacturer that does this sleazy shite.
Edit: Also consider that the insurers set the maximum reimbursement at just slightly over our cost when flu season begins. As the price rises, our reimbursement does not change. During an epidemic, pharmacies accept increasingly ridiculous negative profits for each Tamiflu prescription. There is currently no financial incentive to stock up on this product, other than to be “the one” that had what you needed.
The coupon I posted for $51 generic Tamiflu proves my point because each box of 10 capsules costs us $80-$115 to order.

I thought the same. Until I had the flu. Hand to god, within 6 hours my symptoms were regressing. It didn’t eliminate the flu by any means, but it definitely made it tolerable. I went from bed ridden and uselsss to the couch and at least could communicate. Granted it took days, so who knows. It could have somot worn off. But to me, the timing was everything.
This example is from the last time I had the flu, which was H1N1 in college, lliving in a frat house. Didn’t have a flu shot that year, in case that matters.

Lol at y’all taking Tamiflu. Only works for symptoms in the first 48 hours and typically you don’t realize you have the flu until 3-4 days.
You’re better off with a steroid shot (decadron), fluids, and Tylenol/ibuprofen cycle.

I agree 100%. If you aren’t severely dehydrated or in respiratory distress, don’t even go to the doctor! The flu in Louisiana is probably so rampant because people here don’t know how to frickin cough/sneeze into their inner elbow and refuse to just stay home while sick.

If you would have gone on a trashy cruise this summer you could have bought ALL YOU WANT in MEXICO!
And for half the price!

had this same issue on Christmas Eve when my oldest son had it. I had to pay for the regular stuff above what my insurance covered and now have 2 bottles of it in my fridge.
Sorry to say you should throw it away. The suspension is only good for 10 days at room temperature and 17 days under refrigeration.

Tamiflu is garbage if you start it outside of 48h of onset of symptoms.
And when started appropriately, may shave off 1-2 days max.
Guess it's better than nothing.
