I had a customer come in two weeks before Christmas with tamiflu suspension prescriptions (2 bottles each Rx) for each of her 2 kids. Her cost, after ins deductible and copay, was $321. She asked if I thought it was worth it, especially since it would keep her kids from getting some of the Christmas presents she had planned to buy for them. I told her I wouldn't pay that, even if it were my kids. I got her some ibuprofen, Tylenol, and pedialyte. She thanked me and left. I called her the next day to check on her kids, she told me they were jumping rope and running around like wild Indians. Had she paid the $321 for tamiflu she would have attributed their miraculous recovery to the tamiflu just as you did in your case.

As a pharmacist do you have thoughts on elderberry products as well as oscillococcim?? Been hearing lots of friends feeling better with this in lieu of tamiflu.

I’m trying to figure out these folks who don’t realize it’s the flu until day 3-4. The only time I’ve had it I started feeling shitty on a Friday night and by the next morning I almost couldn’t get out of bed. Definitely knew it wasn’t strep or just your standard cold.

Took Tamiflu and it helped but I imagine it was because I caught it so quick.

Medicaid patients want it since they don't pay anything. Most people I explain what it does and how expensive usually opt out

I wouldn't put as much stock in it as everyone is suggesting on Facebook, but people are going to do what people are going to do. Often times regardless of what their doctor or pharmacist recommend.

I just filled a tamiflu Rx for 10 bucks. Woke up this morning thinking a had a sinus infection flu swab later, looks like it is gonna be a Netflix couple of days.

Humana! Never could understand why there is such a difference from one insurance coverage of a drug to the next! Can't complain though...their hospital coverage and Physical Therapy coverage we needed this past year was top notch!
