Do the color of the wires mean anything? At the main junction, so to speak, I’m seeing a couple whites and some blacks.

They come in both colors, but I thought black was in wall or exterior.

In my closet there once was a big arse splitter where (I believe) the main cable line that came into the house was distributed to the rest of the house. One day Comcast came and for some reason removed the splitter and joined just two wires. I can’t rememver why. But everything worked as we needed. Now I want to make sure cable goes to a particular jack that isn’t working (because splitter gone), and I’m trying to figure
Out of the color of the mystery, unsplit cables means anything.

Racist bigot

There shouldn’t be but one line. Coax is a single cable

There is one line coming in but of course it can be split off in many different directions to go to the various rooms.

I don’t want to call these Comcast dudes back.

I’m not using out for anything. I bought a house that has cable in it. I guess you could say I’m using it for cable. Wtf else would I be using it for? Air conditioning? Come on.

Check the color of the one in the room you are trying to feed and remove and tie in color as needed where the splitter was. Make sure you mark the "in" and "out" as they are now. Will mean moving a TV from room to room.

white is rated for interior...black is rated for exterior (UV) and usually the feed into the attic from the outside...but if the tech is lazy they may use anything for anything...
if it's all rg-6 you should be good to go...
understand you can have issues if you exceed a sharp bend radius as if affects digital signals more than analog...
