Being robbed at gunpoint when I was 16 years old in my own driveway. Black kid(it was later found out he was YOUNGER than me) had a gun pointed at my face only a few feet away from me the entire time.

Being chased by a huge Rottweiler when I was ab 10 years old. Jumped a neighbors fence just in time before he mauled me.

Me too.
I don't really like thinking about it.
Like someone else said I didn't hear shite.
I'm glad I was able to stay calm.

I can honestly say nothing TRULY terrifying has ever happened to me but I'm only 21 so there's still plenty of time.

I've been in a few bad car wrecks. I've ran from cops before. My mom died when I was 14... I was pretty scared to live with my dad alone. Other than that, not much. Nothing even close to some of the shite in this thread.

My wife and I "misplaced" one of our kids at the ballpark for about 30 seconds and it felt like an hour.

Definite difference between "scared" & fear. Fear was the waiting anticipation of Charlie coming our way. Scared is the surprised instant, face to face encounter & his weapon misfires. Thought it was over.
Scared is the guy beside you going down to a sniper shot.
Fear is anything of the battle field.

One of my best friend's dad was a Vietnam vet. 3 Purple Hearts and a bronze star. Few times at the duck camp he got into the whiskey and told some stories that literally would make you sick. One of the greatest men i have ever known though.

I searched but couldn't find anything, this was in the late 80s.
