I'm here now and it blows.

Been here for 3.5 hours and no one has even been called into the court room. I'd rather be at work.

depends on the courthouse, but most around here allow them, just not in the courtroom.

and I'm 41 and never have been called.

I would imagine the average poster would never be allowed to be on a jury. The defense attorney KNOWS their client is going to jail for the max unless they are 100% innocent with the avg. poster here.

I had to report to the 19th JDC a couple years ago. Brought a big-arse book with me (Theodore Rex by Edmund Morris). Sat thru voir dire for one civil case but was never called. I was released after that.

I got a summons for federal court last year. There was a number I had to call every day to find out if I had to report the next day. I never had to report.

20 years. I got DQ'd quick.

Got asked if I knew the council for either side. Plaintiffs local council was one of my dad's lawyers, defense was my lawyer.

My lawyer had no problem at all with me on the jury, plaintiffs council couldn't strike me from the jury fast enough.

Plaintiff had no shot of winning if I'm on that case

About a year ago. Got called in almost immediately to a murder trial, placed on the jury, and had to stay for a whole week. It was interesting to be a part of, but I hope to not have to do that again any time soon.
