When do you predict vehicle prices will normalize?

Seeing $50-$70k for low mileage used trucks and 80-100K for new. Obviously with the chip shortage and lack of production the values are up.
When do you see thinks correct themselves? I need a truck but can wait another year. I’m thinking fall of 2023 but that’s just a shot from the hip.
Anyone got the inside scoop?

Wholesale values are down 15% since mid 2022. They will continue to drop as the economy weakens
New vehicles will start offering big discounts again, some already are, with large rebates by mid 2023
Give it 6 months

You are looking at high end trucks, continue to expect that, but there are plenty of NEW trucks well below 80-100k

I didn’t become a baller by over paying for depreciating assets. I can afford it…lol. That doesn’t mean it’s a good decision.

Anyone have any insight on what the new tundra crew max’s are going for

You're not a baller if you can't buy a domestic vehicle under 100k and not blink an eye

They.are trying to milk this for all it’s worth but there’s no denying how many cars they have sitting on their lots right now just from the dealerships I’m seeing locally

Later this summer.
Inventory is piling back up at dealerships so you’ll see prices come back down mixed with good sales.

I’d adjust your vehicle search. I found a low 30,000 miles, 2020 jeep GC for around $37,000 before tax and lisc- I just had to adjust my search and my criteria

Consumers created this market the past 2 years (posters on this site were part of that). Enjoy the new norm for truck prices.

Good for you, but I need a truck. Hopefully a 3/4 ton. Those seem to be the most expensive.

Look for something over 5 years old and closer to 10.
