We had an 8th grade prom, but didn't have homecoming until high school.

If the school has a football team, Homecoming is a thing. How do you not know this?

My daughter's middle school has around 1k students and a football team. Her school doesnt have homecoming nor am I aware of other schools in the district having them.

Wasn't a thing at my junior high school. Who the hell "comes home" for junior high?

Exactly! Do you think they have junior high/middle school class reunions too?

So you have established that it has been at least since the mid 90s. Well done, Holmes.

Always huh? I have never heard of a middle school having HC.. Even when I was in middle school. So it definitely hasn't always been a thing for.. I guess its safe to say.. A lot of people.

I can tell you my annual trek back to William Pitcher is among my most cherished rituals. As I walk those hallowed grounds of yore, memories rush to fill my heart: the time Mr. Morin broke his ankle running from a fight, the way we snickered at the word "mutual," the smell of the Jheri Curl on an October's morn... those were halcyon days, my friend, halcyon days.
