Our friends have had their transmission rebuilt once and replaced it the second time it messed up. And when they came over a few weeks ago I noticed the engine knocking.

Love how these soccer moms are ‘on a budget’ to find one but will not drive a minivan (better on gas, easier to park, cheaper, and cheaper maintenance) because ‘i dont want to drive grandma’s minivan’. Why you so obsessed with what vehicle looks like when you have kids and its not exactly a vehicle you going to show off anyways (everyone has a tahoe/yukon), so get what makes most ‘sense’

Where do you live slick?

you reek of one of these assholes who thinks you are so unique and cool cause you don't live in or drive whatever is couture at the time.

Why do you care? Do you sell Dodge SUVs? Live in a trailer? Or are you one of the "cool' ones who lives in a loft downtown so you can be close to bars/restaurants and take your bike or mass transit everywhere? So edgy!

who cares what they drive? Or eat at shitty chain restaurants? or wear PFG fishing shirts? play travel ball? or have a kid with a stupid name?

STFU and do you. Don't worry about what mom is doing with Jaxson. You aint paying for it and it probably doesn't effect you.

You might want to tell her she's got it all wrong. The van is for when your kids are younger and keeps them from banging their doors on everything around them. You move up to the full-size SUV when they can actually handle the weight of a door swinging open.

We had two Odysseys over the last 10 years and just bought a Nissan Armada to replace it, which has been great so far. The vans were super-practical, though.

I’ve seen a huge uptick in Jeep wranglers with 3” of lift, rims, and all terrains. A lot more so than Tahoe’s.

I guess you can get those cheaper and have some cool factor too?

Still on my first minivan and it is absolutely amazing for road trips and easier to drive than a suburban. My kids are old enough now to handle the weight of a swinging door but minivan prices are so much more agreeable than SUVs.

Plan on getting one in a couple years unless something better is available. We are rocking the Minivan right now, which is awesome with 2 year old twins and a teenager. Want to stay with something that has 3 rows of seating and some storage. Hell, we may stick with the Minivan longer. People may snicker at that but we dgaf.

What's the deal with all of these families of 5 having vehicles with comfortable seating for 5?

I don't disagree with you. My wife was just ready for another SUV, so I broke down and moved on it; plus, we had a white Odyssey and a couple of spots on the roof started to lose paint in quarter-sized chunks. Mechanically, great vehicles, but the white, dark blue and gold ones have known paint quality issues. It was time to go while I could still sell it for a good price.

When it came to the SUV, we just didn't want anything domestic, which left us with few options.

Mt. Pleasant - specifically the Carol Oaks neighborhood.

Minivans are the best family vehicle out there. There is just this "uncool" stigma attached to them.

I tried getting the wife to get a minivan. She said no right away. I don't understand. There are some kickass looking minivans, and they are more comfortable. And you can get a tricked out one with all the bells and whistles for less than a basic SUV.

I've always found it 100 percent easier to back in a truck or large suburban/tahoe vs trying to pull forward in a crowded parking lot....but I'm a guy which matters on the topic.
