I was spanked a few times by my dad and I deserved them. However, the worst punishment involved my mom when I almost burned my sister's playhouse down. All my mom did was say "You just wait 'til your daddy gets home!". That was the longest day of my life and then she never mentioned it to him.

Pick a switch
Leather belt on the backside
Kneel on rice holding encyclopedias (1 hr)
No tv for 2 months
Can't go on family vacation (took my cousin instead)
The rice was the worst

I got my door taken away. I was like 16 and my boyfriend was over after school. Brother and his friends were being loud in the living room so we shut the door to watch tv. Apparently that was the end of the world.

I came home drunk at 6:30 am. Dad made me haul hay in the blistering heat all day.

Took my share of well deserved belt whoopings but the worst punishment I received was:
Dad - cut the cord off the stereo & TV in my room. At 12 years old, I didn't understand that they could be repaired later, I thought they were ruined.
Mom - On a road trip back from visiting my grandparents, I got mouthy in the backseat talking about my friends get to go to Disney world on vacations and all we ever do is visit family. Riding down some random hwy in the middle of BFE, she pulled over at a roadside cemetery with nothing else around. She made me get out & drove off. She was gone probably 15 minutes before she circled back to pick me up but to an 8 year old little boy, it felt like hours.

Discipline only works if it comes from a place of love. A lot of this just sounds like abuse unfortunately.

12 year old daughter was being a complete raving bitch to her mom and would not get dressed for school. Drove home from work, dragged her outside, threw her in car in her underwear and proceeded to drive her to school. She begged me to take her back to get dressed and we never had that problem again.

I got caught saying things that would make a sailor blush, I had to miss the LSU UGA game in 2003 with my grandparents due to my month long punishment

Wasn't the being late that did it. She was being rebellious at that time. A lot was building up. Oh and she was 30 mins late the first time and almost an hour late the second time. She was and is my sweet heart. We talk every day and has my grandson now. We talk about it often and laugh.

Dad grounded me until ‘further notice with the stipulation that if I asked if my punishment is over, I was grounded that much longer. About 6 weeks into the grounding he wanted to know why I wasn’t off with my friends. I reminded him of the punishment and he said, “Oh, yeah. Go find your friends.”
