So wrong!!

I worked at a level 1 trauma center for 8 years, so you name it, I saw it. Currently working at a level 2 ER, much more calm than the 1st hospital.

Just quick stuff off the top of my head:

- 1 drunk dude peeing on another passed out drunk dude
- 2 drunk girls sharing one bed and starting a little girl on girl stuff before the one poor nurse had to stop it. They were fairly attractive too
- Seeing people's chests cracked open was always interesting, very sad when it was a 10 ish year old once
- Dude came by car, his friend grabs a wheelchair and wheels him into the ER and the dude in the wheelchair is legit just holding a huge pile of his insides(stomach area) in his arms. He was stabbed/slashed open
- Numerous motorcycle accidents where dudes come in with half of a leg and the other half comes in a bag with them
- Chicks with drugs "hidden" and/or chicks or dudes with random objects stuck up in certain places
- A dude stole his parents' car, crashed it and burned it. Came to the ED just burnt to a crisp, but still awake and alert. The moment he got in, the trauma doc looked at him and just said, "Sir, you are going to die tonight, is there anyone we can call that you want to see before you die?" Dude's parents came pretty quickly, another sad moment to witness parts of.

Holy shite man.. That's fricking brutal. Was he just in shock from everything happening that his body hadn't processed the fact that everything was shutting down? How long did it take for him to pass?

I'm actually not clinical so i don't know the ins and outs, but I assume pretty much this. He was certainly in some pain, but nothing like you'd imagine if you just saw him.

I'm sure they just really, really heavily medicated him to take away the pain and possibly to keep him around a bit longer than he would on his own so his parents could come down and spend a little time with him.

Not sure how long he lasted as I didn't really notice much after swinging by a couple of times and seeing/hearing him and his parents talking.

Once saw a person who was a deaf mute who literally ripped both of his eyeballs out of his head.

Both eyeballs were sitting intact on a tray in the room.

Let me tell you that is not easy to do! The eye is attached by six muscles and the optic nerve. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't saw it.

Another time saw a patient who had been referred in for treatment of an ocular melanoma. This person had been told that they had this melanoma and the eye needed to be removed a good while before this. However, the patient insisted that God was going to cure her and she didn't need surgery. He didn't. By the time she got to us the tumor had grown to roughly the size of a softball. She literally had a softball sized tumor growing out of her eye socket.

So Earl K Long hospital was your only option?

For 1, I'd never go to a charity hospital. I don't like going to the doctor much less a hospital.

And B, I was in the great town of thibodaux and it was 11:00 at night when I left the hospital. I didn't care anymore and wasn't driving to houma.

I was staying in the ER on Halloween. Saw some people bloody with cuts and all bandaged up. I literally couldn't tell if they were dressing up for Halloween or not.
