It is always so compellingly interesting to see all the people in these threads speak about being "sure" of stuff regarding people who they largely don't even know.

First party I went to, I friggin ran into the local PTA president of my kid's elementary school. I'd known her for YEARS!! Didn't have a clue. And I've NEVER been very uptight.

So, if you're an uptight bitch in this thread that's all super judgmental, you probably shouldn't anticipate that IRL, you're gonna know the swingers that are in your life.

Oh. And you can mark my fricking words. You DO know some.

I've made no arguments for or against it so you must have an odd definition of rationalizing.

They seem to forget that the guy gets to frick other women and oftentimes the women enjoy MFF. What about if the guy gets to frick all the women he wants and the woman has girlfriends that she allows him to join in with? That better?

Meh. I'm not even trying to convince them it's awesome. They wouldn't believe it anyways.

But damn. I'd love to see their list of "reasons to be married". I mean, I'm thinking that most of those reasons would be the same as why I got married.

If you are truly in love with your wife I can't fathom how this can be accepted. How the F does this conversation even get started? I doubt many people go into marriage wanting it to be an open marriage but maybe I'm wrong.

Or maybe some people don't have the same sexual hangups others have. Some people make too big of a deal about sex, after so many times it's mundane. Some people just like to spice it up a little.

Once you take that step though, you can't undo it.

For the most part, true.

I do know one couple that I've known for about 13 years that seems to go in waves.

For several months, they are at every damned event you can even think of getting to. They are highly active on their two web profiles. Etc etc.

Then, they take a break. Sometimes for 4-5 months.

Then, back at it.

First time it happened, I thought, "ruh roh, trouble". But, it's been happening since about 2002.

I've got to the point standard sex doesn't interest me much. I think I ruined myself over indulging.

If I've learned anything from addiction, it's that, you know, life is as brief as the twinkling of a star over all too soon. So if you're in a situation where you're with a woman, why not do the most interesting thing that you can do in that situation? And by which, I don't mean have a conversation, have a chin-wag, a bit of a chat. Lose yourself in something that's both ancient and perennial. Find something eternal, perpetual. Lose yourself in frick.

why tie the knot with someone if you both are going to sleep around with other folks openly? Something about this just doesn't make sense to me.

This again.

There is more to marriage then fricking. However a lot of people get tired of bumping against the same body after a few years and want some spice. If I like my wife but want to nail her best friend...being truthful and upfront about it is one hell of a lot better then running around behind her back.

Nothing wrong with consensual non-monogamy as long as everyone is a consenting adult.

I should know, been with my wife 22 years now ;-)....

True story, it's sad really.

But that's evident that an open relationship is only for the secure people that are content with themselves, their partners and certainly don't act like they own their partner.

I lose myself 10-15 times a week in my girlfriend but then again I'm always looking for a side piece.

Divorced life is great for sex drive. No more hitting the same piece of arse, you get to experience new things, and you might just find out that you were missing out on a lot while you were married. I've gone as young as 23 and as old as 55 since mine left me.

Shrug...lotta guys in here think those of us with open marriages sit at home waiting for our spouse to return.

That's not how it works ;-).

I think there's a something interesting that seem to run through the heads of people who start these threads.

1)They seem to think there's some great concern that if you swing, your wife or hubby will get laid by someone better than their spouse and this will be a big deal.

So, let me clear something up here. There is no fricking doubt that since starting in the lifestyle, my wife has gotten it from someone better than I give it. And, there's no doubt I've given it to a few wives better than they were getting at home.

But hey folks. NEWSFLASH. Unless your spouse was a virgin when you married them or close to it, there's a VERY high probability that you aren't the best sex partner they've ever had. Oh, they may have told you this(I used to tell this lie to my first wife), but it's almost always a lie.

So, when you got married, your spouse already knew you weren't the best frick available. They knew that if "best frick they could get" was their primary criteria, they should pass on you. Hell, the "best frick" available may be someone they broke up with just before starting to date you!

I think that people in general have way too big a hang up as to whether they are the baddest mofo ever in bed. No. Trust me. You're not. Somewhere out there, maybe even on your block, is someone that would frick your wife(or hubby) and make whatever you're doing look like amateur hour.

Most of you are the street ball version of basketball(at best) in bed but hanging just around the corner is Lebron James.

I'll give you my view from the other side. They're not married, but have been living together 7 years. Apparently the guy has a big drug problem, in and out of rehab, and other issues and they haven't had sex in two years.

She doesn't want to leave him as she wants to help him work through his issues, but also doesn't feel like her desires should be put on hold, so I've been having sex with her on a regular basis for the last couple of months. We talked about everything, are comfortable with each other (friend of a friend), and agree that it's no strings attached.

I could never see myself on the other end of it, but as long as I'm single, she's been given the free pass, then it's pretty cool for me I guess.
