Standpoint > Coeur d’Alene

Better lake, has a great ski area, and hasn’t been ruined by the hordes of coastal urban west coast trash yet.

Sandpoint is awesome. Its definitely where I would live if I had to leave Alaska.

You are exactly at the kind of place that I want to be in the very very near future.

You will not regret it. When you find your kind of place, everything lines up.

Take a day trip to Newport if you do this. Newport is beautiful. I love the small New England coastal towns in the summer like Newport and Narragansett.

The answer to your question though is it really depends on what you're looking for. Beach or mountains? Big city or small town? Outdoorsy stuff? I don't think there's really a one size fits all answer here.

When I was single in my 20s, a group of us used to do a 5 day trip to Put-In-Bay, OH every year. It's basically a party island in the middle of Lake Erie full of swim up bars, regular bars, and any kind of woman you were looking for .
