Another to add. When shite hits the fan offshore I’m the guy that’s got to figure out what happened and present the proof of that cause. All the while some know it all coonass control room operator is trying to explain why I’m wrong and his initial bullshite reason he gave the OIM is right. While I’m standing there with the proof in my hand. The situation itself isn’t stressful. Dealing with an entire culture that thinks they know everything is the stressful part.

I originally read the title as “Pleasure filled”, and said to myself “THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I’M CLICKING THAT LINK”.

frick NO! lol. I was answering whether I folded or not.

I was at the prison 04/05.

AG is what I remind myself of whenever life really sucks. At least it isn’t AG.

Also, did you fold or are you the type that dials in when the heat is on?

My job is insanely stressful sometimes. This last project was at another level, with no air cover from people above me.

Basically December ‘22-June ‘23…I was having trouble disconnecting from the intense and often confrontational workdays with a terrible client. So I started drinking at night to force my brain to switch gears. On cold nights I would jump in the pool to get my mind off work. On really cold nights I would try to run around my neighborhood. I went through the last of my stockpile of (marijuana) edibles from Illinois pretty quickly.

Not a healthy place. If it happens again I will ask to be reassigned. If that ask isn’t met, I will quit.

Following a crew boat (his radar) in a 21ft Wellcraft out of Southwest pass at night. Waves were insane so had to turn back once we entered the Gulf. As I turned the boat around the steering broke. Wind was blowing towards the east jetty. I legit thought we were about to die.

Fortunately the current out had us in the gulf. A couple of flares later a huge arse ship got between us and the waves until a small crew boat towed us to the safety between the jetties. We limped back to Venice after tying the inboard outboard straight and steering by using the rig hook to move the motor by using it as a lever on one side of the rope holding the motor straight.
