What's the most grad credits you'd recommend taking in one semester?

I want to know if I'm going to commit suicide before the end of the semester.

Knew one guy taking 12
But he did his grad classes in like a year
I'm taking 6 hours

my advisor said to drop at least 1 class. currently got 16hrs. 2 is a thesis writing class which is BS. 3 is with a professor that I know is cake.
so in all actuality I think it's kind of only 11.

At the master's level, I took 9 (3 classes)
at the PhD level, I took 10 (2 classes)

I've done 12. I don't recommend it.

I can speak from a history perspective. No more than 9 ever.
If you have a full time job, 6 would be stretching it.

You can handle that but might be tough working full time. All but 2 of my grad classes took very little time outside of class

Must be an MBA...no one takes more than 9 hours in a rigorous master's program without getting a "B" or losing your mind.

I'd say 9 is pretty standard for Master's level. Burnout is a very real thing.

I did 6, but was on a quarters system. I once considered another graduate school that was based upon semesters and they recommended no more than 9.
I guess it depends on how many hours you're working per week.

yea, I'm cutting back on my hours at work. Thats a dead job for me anyway. I see only 2 courses (7 hours) really having to work for. I'm considering dropping one, but I haven't made up my mind yet. The only one i can drop is the easy professor cake course.

Don't let AB hear you say that

I'd gut that out if I were you.

I took 12, let me finish in a year. Course work was fairly easy, and I was a Graduate Assistant so didn't have any work outside of school really.
Like others said though... you will get burnt out with that many.

I've got 3 grad classes this semester

Posted on 8/14/14 at 5:52 pm to tduecen
I'm taking 12 in law school this semester. Undergrad was a joke though. I took 21 hours my last two semester to catchup from changing a major and maintained A's

12 depending on how tough they are. Should at least have 9 at the minimum.
In grad school when I was taking 7000 level experimental statistics, I made sure my other classes were on the lighter side.
