I couldn't stop him, and that's because you don't understand China's mindset and policies. I remember looking around, and while the Chinese people immediately stopped to look at what was going on, they just as quickly ignored him by the time the second kick came in. The only 3 people who were visibly horrified by the situation were myself and two other white people and we looked at each other in disbelief on what happened. The Chinese at large have been trained at birth to ignore horrible atrocities around them and to just mind your own damn business.
Now, if I had gone over and confronted this Chinese human garbage, it doesn't matter if I'm completely in the right and the Chinese know that, they will immediately side with the Chinese guy over me no matter what he's done. They look at me the Westerner as their enemy. There's a good chance I may have gotten my arse gloriously kicked by various Chinese people who will take up for their own countryman over a foreigner no matter what.
In America, no one would give a shite about your background if you call out something for a visible atrocity out in public. They will side with the guy who clearly has the right position and not the guy who kicks the shite out of their kid. If this was done in the Mall of America (the Anerican equivalent of the place where I was), then several people would step in to separate the mother and child from the father, call the police, and if he got violent, then people would step in to subdue him. They just ignore it in China.

Killjoy time.....
I was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq from 2003-2004 and saw my fill of "disgusting."
1. We pulled security at a mental institution for a few months. The main (male) holding/common area usually had 20-30 people, mostly nude, shitting/pissing/jacking-off/you name it. One of the more volatile patients was in isolation and got his head stuck between the metal bars...breaking his neck. We had to get him out. Two choices, cut the bars or take the easy way.
2. On guard one day I saw a 30something year old man abusing/raping a young girl (10-13)...my rules of engagement wouldn't allow me to do anything about it, no matter how many times I asked the guard commander.
3. Easiest on the list would be the burning bodies...seeing them isn't near as bad as the smell.

When I was in college a friend invited me to an Impotent Sea Snakes concert at the Howling Wolf. Said sure even though i'd never heard of them.
I'm not sure how they qualified as a band, other than they did play music, but there was some crazy shite going down on stage. They got a female volunteer from the audience to basically do a handstand on stage while the lead singer stuck a dildo attached to a drill in her pussy and went o town for a minute or two. When he was done, he pulled it out and then offered it to people in the front row to suck and people fricking did. I was just standing there shocked and wondering what the frick I was watching. My buddy was cracking up at my reaction b/c I guess he knew what kind of show this was.
Lots of other bizarre shite happened that involved audience participation too. I ended up back at the bar drinking and I'm looking at the audience and there were at least a dozen couples fricking or getting Handy's etc. It was the strangest concert I've ever been to.

They played at least twice at Spanish Moon here in Baton Rouge. I remember being kind of shocked that they didn't get raided by the police. They had to have been violating all kinds of obscenity laws.
