I have about a 75 mile commute each day, one way. Comes about to about an hour without traffic here in Houston. Only thing that makes it doable is the company vehicle
same here, only I do it between Laffy/WBR- no company car. The hour+ I spend in the car each way isn't really a big deal. I like my job and get paid enough, so the commute isn't an issue (yet). I think the Metarie to LAffy is too much simply because he'd have to go thru BR. frick that.
I do find it amusing that so many here think a two hour roundtrip commute is too taxing. God help them if they ever move to a real city.

1-2 hours for something really spectacular (talking like dream job).
My dream job is at home with my kids. So 2-4 hours commute every day to pay the bills... frick that

Biggest issue for me with a long commute would be traffic. If there was traffic then about 30 minutes, without I could easily do an hour.

I work 14/14. Paducah, Kentucky to Grand Isle. Roughly 680 mile one-way. 9 hours stopping for gas only, usually maintain 80mph. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

30 minutes.
Commuting distance is a major factor that contributes to job satisfaction. As commuting distance increases, so does risk for health problems, stress and depression.

I used to drive to different sites every day for a living. Usually was 50-300 miles with the occasional 500. I couldn't do the same exact commute every day that far though. Too monotonous.
That's between $27.50 and $275 each day just for driving

Too long. The problem with distance is it never gets shorter and can only take longer due to traffic. Most normal commutes deal with traffic and, as such, can be shortened depending on when you are travelling. My morning commute is about 30-45 minutes. Make the same drive at 10 a.m. and it is about 13 minutes. Laffy to Metry is going to always take at least the same minimum amount of time and can only get worse. You may find yourself taking more days or 1/2 days off because you can't reasonably go home and meet a contractor, kid conference at school, etc. then return to work.
