You have a link to this study? I’m genuinely curious as to what it has to say about other potential variables that may correlate with a higher body count (such as age, previous relationships/marriages, etc).

One thing I’ve learned dating in my forties is stuff like that doesn’t matter.
Do you work? Does your penis work? Is your ex insane? What kind of dad are you?
That’s the kind of things I’m worried about, not how many women he has had sex with.

Neither you nor OP will answer a straight question about how many partners is acceptable for a woman and for a man.

They are out there and googleable. I've seen some. They generally show correlation between marriage young age with higher premarital partners being more prone to divorce.
It's all self reported data though so nothing is too scientific.

Like it or not it seems like highly relevant information. Half of the marriage concept is arguably about raising and protecting children. But the other half is probably about fidelity to only one partner.
That's pretty limiting (the opposite behavior of promiscuity or hedonism) and pretty difficult if you are attractive enough to be offered sex by others after you marry.
Having a smaller number of partners is probably a good indicator just because it indicates good impulse control and an emphasis on sexual selectivity rather than spreading your seed.

Well and my first question would be is the higher likelihood of divorce more likely a correlation due to the younger age/lack of maturity (especially these days) versus the actual number of self-reported partners. And do we take into consideration populations that may not have had access to good sex education, maybe have family members that don’t value monogamy, etc. If that makes sense.

I've read studies that show that large age gaps increase divorce rates quite considerably too. IIRC divorce rates were higher for 5+ year age gaps and considerably higher for 10-20 years.

He prob was brought up in some Christian church that taught that a husband is over his wife's body. That her enjoying sex is wrong. That anytime she had anyone touch her before marriage, she gave herself away and could not fully give herself to him.

Ive also read where income disparities are a factor as well. Someone who is 10 years older has accumulated more assets, prior to the marriage.
