Where you begin to take these sexual related allegations seriously?

Let’s see:

1. “I like to walk in when they are changing so I can see them naked.”

2. “When you are a celebrity you just kiss them. You can also grab ‘em by the pussy.”

3. 13 sexual harassment lawsuits.

I think this exceeds the threshold.

I look at staleness of the allegations, evidence/context, timing and what's to be gained. One could be enough.

It's not about numbers with me.

The quality of the accusations > quantity of the accusations

Investigate everybody and their brother, investigate Trump with recorded evidence and accusers. That’s my point.

Is anything to be gained? These women have their lives torn apart when they go public. When the person is a Hollywood type, their fans are relentless. When it’s political, even worse.

They’re not getting rich. They’re not signing book deals. There is no way in hell I would ever subject myself to the scrutiny just to tank a guy’s election chances or get a few grand from Inside Edition.

Most are paid to tell their story, at least.

Sexual harassment? I couldn't care less.

Sexual assault or rape? About as much as I care the tens of thousands of other violent crimes that occur each year.

No doubt sexual assault or rape should be things our society concerns itself with, I'm just wondering if we're a bit too concerned about it.

If there is one, I take it pretty seriously....when they start showing up to ride the lawsuit, I lose interest pretty quickly.

The real question is: "What's the magic number for accusers that have proof the allegations occurred."
All of the he said/she said with no evidence is getting old. Hate that some of this happened, but people need to report it immediately.
Waiting 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 years makes it almost impossible to prove. At that point many people will disbelieve the accusers.

Pretty much the only thing one gains by coming out publicly is ridicule and relentless scrutiny. If they were profiting financially, you’d have never heard about it.

I’ll grant you someone like a Kathy griffin could get some press, but if you’re a no name Jane, I can’t see how you gain anything.

Based on my reasoning, if there isn't anything to be gained that would obviously be an indicator of truthfulness, but just one. Of course there's always the crazy people who pathologically lie for seemingly no reason even if it's detrimental to themselves.

That tends to make the Hollywood accusers look more truthful;
however that's a different world and maybe there's a motivation to get ones name out there if they haven't done anything in a while, either to get work or purely to have their name being mentioned. Again, with show business we're talking about a completely different mentality where people crave attention because they've gotten a taste of it and use it as a barometer for their worth.

Politically it's also a different animal, especially these days with the political world so crazy that even everyday people want their voices heard and to make a difference. Probably the trickiest category to gauge. IMO upcoming elections make claims much more suspect.

None of what I'm saying is meant to be dismissive of claims, just give my input on a way to evaluate them. Far from it, I've hoped this Hollywood garbage behavior would be exposed for years now. It's very sad.
