Dude, relax.
Businesses have their own needs, due diligence, etc.
They're not going to rush you through just to suit your financial needs.
And if you bug the shite out of them now, they may get the idea that you will not be able to comprehend such.
Stay in touch, and relax. If you're bored, continue your job search... you may find something better.
Terrible advice, relaxing is what gets people overlooked. You're gonna wanna call these people two times a day minimum, make sure they know you're prepared and eager to start working. Find out your future boss's home address and send him an early Christmas card with questions about when you can start, or just pay him a visit at his house after hours and ask in person. You don't want to look like you don't care about it, show them you're a go-getter.

I have been told 30 days may be the norm. Once I was reassigned to another job within the comany to pick up more responsibilities and was told my new supervisor would contact me. I waited 2 weeks and 3 days while receiving pay for basically reading my emails and redirecting them to others on my old job. He called, said welcome, and the delay was due to him not knowkng his vacancy was filmed by yours truly!

2 months because I didn't want to leave my employer at the time hanging and I needed that long to find a replacement and get them up to speed.

I had a company 2 weeks ago tell me that they want to hire me but won't formally offer me until the start of next year due to their project schedule. Similar situation, but yours sounds a lot more official than mine does.

I had to wait 10 months because my EOD took forever.
