When I was a bank teller, we had several pilots come in with 7-day pay period checks of $3k+. Their schedules aren't like deckhands or tankermen either - a lot of them do week on/week off or some variant where they're not on the river for a whole month at a time.

See you're talking Red River pilots, when everyone else means Mississippi River pilots. The guys at the mouth make $450k a year.

Can confirm.

I dated a girl for a while, circa 2004 or 2005, whose father and three brothers were/are all river pilots (Crescent City pilots or Miss River Pilots, i forget the actual title).. at that time, they each made $400k a year.. I probably shoulda married her.
