I’m told a GMC is basically a Chevy with most of the kinks worked out.

read that GMC Denali's were one of the most profitable automobile brands

You didn’t read well enough. A Denali is a model, not a brand and an apostrophe indicates possession or the use of a contraction, not when something is plural.

The only difference I can see with the exception of a few outside looks, is that the base model of the GMC is a step up from the base model of the the Chevy. Beyond that, they are identical moving up.

The Denali has more prestige than the High Country

A few less nuts and bolts in a Chevy but they are both a POS.

I disagree.

"Denali" is a trim option used across multiple GMC vehicles.

It certainly qualifies as a brand, especially in terms of how GMC uses it (branding). It is indeed an extremely profitable brand.

I sell used cars.

The GMCs tend to hold up better over the long haul, both the trucks and SUVs. GMC seems to use higher quality interior parts and they seem to screw everything together just a little tighter.
