I've seen maybe 2-3 good examples in my life where dudes are totally and understandably blindsided that what they thought was a proper, respectable woman is actually not at all.

They do not have many female options, if any at all, in their life so they will latch onto the first female who shows them any kind of attention.
The best way to do it is abundance mentality. Don't be so desperate to lock down the first piece of pussy who shows any kind of reciprocation toward you. Sample the market. See what is out there. Date/frick multiple women without committing. Find what you like and don't like in women.
