They still do that along Bayou St John? Did some of the races way back in the late 1960's there.

I can't say it's the coolest. But I've built up some fat girl's self esteem at 3 am a few times.

I doubt you're the only one in the control room with your feet up.
I am retired from my old line of work and am building custom tables and woodworking in my shop now and farming on my land for fun. Built a 40x40 shop and got all the good woodworking equipment and really enjoying it.

Prayers sent that you don't have to issue a hot work or vessel entry permit tonight or do a sniff test.

Helped a friend build a duck camp out in the marsh about 20 years ago. Generator shed. Boat dock, the whole deal. All materials brought to the site by boat by us.
Had a great time working with 10 or so dudes like myself every Saturday, cutting wood, slinging hammers, friend and his dad bickering the whole time, too many chiefs and not enough indians. But they provided the beer, and all was good. That camp got built, perhaps overbuilt, and still stands to this day despite hurricanes.

I was an engineer, but I just started a career in law.
I worked with a carpenter a lot through high school and picked up woodworking/furniture as a hobby. One of the few hobbies i have that my wife likes throwing money at.
