We used a patched tractor inner tube in the 70's and had loads of fun. One friend dislocated his shoulder after flipping about 10 feet in the air while crossing a wake. He already had shoulder issues but this did not help

I have one similar to this one:

It's nearly impossible for the kids to fall off of it, but it will not pull in this direction. It digs into the water when I connect the rope to that side.

Kids who tube don't grow up to slay poon. Teach them how to step out of a slalom ski at 42 mph and they'll crush it.

Depends. You looking for a challenge or something safe and fun for kids?

Me personally I like small one person tubes that can really sling you out there and get some air on the waves

I miss the ones that flew in the air

Get a semi truck tube, that's what we used.

Do you want a tube for them to giggle and have fun? Or be terrified and crap in their swimsuits?

I always liked the basic ol round 2 man ones. You can really haul arse on those, catch air if you want, and there's no way to really destroy yourself if the boat driver isn't stupid.

Gosh, just don’t. It’s too fricking dangerous for the fun level. Get em something that they can build some skill on.

I dont do any boating on fresh water anymore, is water skiing still a thing? Going from a kneeboard, to skiing, to slalom, to a few seconds of barefoot over the course of two summers as a pre-teen was damn fun.

Being able to half arse run a slalom course as a high schooler with 2-3 girls in the boat watching wrecks havoc to the Sonic parking spot pecking order the following weekend. Sadly, the poon remained un-slain on that day.

I have that same exact tube. The kids just have to lean back a little when you first take off. If they're leaning forward against the back rest, of course it's going to torpedo.
