You'll find in almost every culture in which the elite horde all the wealth for themselves that the people are all for themselves. Because if they aren't, if they don't lie, cheat, and steal, they could easily just die.

Lot of this and Africans generally only care what they can get for themselves.
How can you say that and live in a capitalistic society?
Capitalism is the epitome of "me me me me me me me"
Damnit the framers ran from England because one could say(and I disagree, persecution sucks arse) that they were self entitled narcisstic people that wanted nothing more but To do what they wanted when they wanted to however they wanted

wot? way to victim blame. even if it were true (it's not because Africans care deeply about family), that would be a by-product of the shitty leadership, poverty, and violence.
Most foreign cultures care way more about the family unit than western cultures. Here you have brother sisters moms and dads that will pick $$$ >>> family.

I think he might actually be right about that one - African national immigrants tend to have extremely high education and income levels - but that is not necessarily indicative of their being accurate representatives of their homelands, but rather the rigor we place on incoming immigrants from Africa (except Somalis we move to the land of winter).
You're taking too much Credit -- these folks are usually butt ducking rich in their homelands (that's why they can afford to come here) or extreme exceptional/1%ers in terms of their skills/expertise. They can do things most other people in the world can't do. That's why you never see the refugee populations soar as much because they weren't hand picked by our immigration policies. This goes for Asian immigrants too.
Plus, it's not the rigors we place on them, they have no choice. It's either succeed or go back to hardships

You're conflating a form of government with culture and society. They're not the same.

They wanted to have the ability to control their own lives.

My local rotary club is always asking for money to send over there to build water wells.
I hope Matt Damon and Stella Artois are able to build wells all over the continent to keep all those women from walking barefooted 800 miles a day to get water. (Notice how he only talks about women getting water? Do the men not know how to get water?)

You missed a post I made about Namibia. I've spent almost 15 years in Africa. Namibia is an exception, not the rule. Please continue to school me on your incredible knowledge of Africa tho.

Yea still here. Still the same issues. Elections next year. My coefficient should go up. Lots of problems recently between Anglophone and Francophone. Paul Biya cut off all internet for the entire Anglophone region to shut them up.

Yeesh . . . I would've thought Cameroon was among the "better" equatorial African countries.
