How often do you travel to see the country? I'm assuming it's very safe to do alone right?

Pretty often. The nearest golf course is a few hours out of town in the English speaking part. I go about every other weekend for golf. I usually go once a month to a small beach town to the south.

I'm shipping in some new hiking gear and planning to hike to the crater of Mount Cameroon. Sea level to 14,000 feet. There's also the location around Mount Cameroon where they filmed Greystoke that has a really beautiful waterfall. Really the entire area around Mount Cameroon is pretty interesting.

I just learned about a monkey sanctuary a few hours from here. That will probably be my next trip. There or another trip to the US embassy for my son and some golf.

Planning a big trip in May though to Zambia to see Victoria Falls. Can't wait for that one. Not everyday you get to see one of 7 natural wonders.

Depending on the altitude you live at and how quickly you plan on ascending, you might want to take a steroid dose pack IMhO

Thanks I may consider that. I live at sea level here in Cameroon but Colorado has been my home since 2005 so I've done similar ascents before. I would be starting out at elevation around 5,000 feet to summit and not actual sea level. I wasn't very clear in my post, just saying the volcano goes from the sea to 14,000 feet. It's rare we get a clear enough day to see the mountain but it's an impressive sight when we do.
