Except the stuff we buy is absolute dog shite if you don't spend lavishly. I would kill to have the same quality of goods my parents had growing up, but it's cheap plastic bullshite unless you spend money. I wish I could do most of the work on my own car, but there's so much electronic shite in them that it's basically impossible if you aren't a professional.
Fresh local fish? Nah son, that's like 30 dollars a pound, here's some cheap Chinese shite that you can get for 9 dollars a pound. The 80s outsourced everything for cheap labor and to avoid the goddamn red tape we put on everything in this country. Gross chemicals? Hm we could either use better materials, or better yet, pay some poor Chinese/Indian laborer to suck in those fumes and get cancer for us.

Not sure of your situation but this is not the case where I live at all.
US wild caught snapper was like 11.99/lb at the seafood market earlier this week.

We have lower middle class but instead of being satisfy they want to buy 80k trucks or 2500 square feet houses. Either truck or house poor. Growing up in a family of four in a 1200 square foot house was plenty of room. Mind you I’m on the line of upper middle class and lower upper class so I have my 2500 square foot house but house payment only 15% of my take home

Sure
I'm not saying having 3 kids and living a middle class life isn't attainable. I'm saying living to the same standards that we did when I was a kid would be significantly more expensive today than 30 years ago.

I don’t agree. I think “middle class standards” are in reality upper class standards.
You can live a very comfortable middle class life if you don’t spend like wealthy family.

Are you even reading what I'm saying? I'm not using an arbitrary "middle class standards" as a reference, which I agree many people have unreasonable standards today.
I'm using my actual life as a reference. Achieving the same standards as how I grew up (i.e., similar house, cars, education for 3 kids, etc.) is considerably more expensive today. It's really not even debatable.

Young Sheldon was the most popular sitcom on TV for the last several years. It was basically MITM with more normal middle class characters.

I don’t think cell phones and high speed internet were part of your parents monthly bills. Chances are you probably drive a nicer car than your parents did?
That’s my point. We have bills now that our parents didn’t have.

I drive the exact same car my parents had when I was a kid

And again, you're not comprehending what I'm saying. How I live right now doesn't really matter to my point.
Matching assets today versus 30 years ago is more expensive today. And a $50/mo cell phone bill isn't the difference.

Really? I pay $250/month for phone and internet. That’s $250/month my parents didn’t have to spend. Not to mention the phone itself was over $1000.
Not sure what’s hard to understand here. People simply spend more money than they did 30 years ago. Cell phones, hi-tech cars, nicer houses, golf carts, tricked out boats, the list goes on and on.
Our parents could live a comfortable middle class life because they spent less.

but none of the kids on it were normal, and neither were the parents.
And it was Hollywood projection. The kids wouldn't likely be as intelligent or non-trashy back in the day
If I recall, the older brother was/became pretty bad
I knew families like this growing up and see those same families today via work

Again, this has nothing to do with my point. Let's just agree to disagree

They drove a Honda Accord, I drive a Honda accord (been paid off for many years). Pretty simple

I bet your Accord is substantially nicer, more powerful, etc.
Do you have leather seats? Did they?

I mean by what standard? No I'm not driving a 1990 Honda Accord, I'm driving a 2013 which I'm sure is "nicer".
Same model, no upgrades, no leather seats.
Again, it doesn't really matter to my original point.

Size?
Power?
Safety features?
Technology?
Honda was a lot more of a premium brand in 2013 than 1990, like Toyota.

White women took to single motherhood and multiple baby daddies. Sure, there are still some traditional families, but the wedlock baby rate of whites is climbing rapidly.
