work requirements for entitlement programs
reduce redundant state agencies
eliminate redundant "rec" institutions (there are Recreational Centers in many metro council districts drawing funds from the city/parish general fund rendering redundant services that BREC offers. They should be incorporated into BREC or eliminated. These rec centers are basically jobs programs and money laundering of tax dollars to support family members of connected councilmen and local judges.)
I would abolish public sector unions.
I would cut state police and bus transit systems from the state highway fund so that the entirety of it goes to roads and bridges as intended.
I would eliminate the practice of public agencies including in their budgets unfilled positions which have remained unfilled for more than 6 months.
I would end automatic increases in budgets for state agencies in "standstill budgets".
I would tie automatic increases in state agency budgets to the previous year's GDP growth rate for the state. If the state's economy isn't growing, the government isn't growing either.
I would eliminate the state income tax and abolish all inventory taxes statewide (as well as the inventory tax credit racket).
I would massively reduce the number of occupational licenses required by the state.
I would introduce reforms to streamline and standardize permitting and licensing processes statewide so that businesses can get started much much faster.
I would legalize recreational marijuana and apply that tax money to the highway fund
I would mandate that public defenders offices and district attorneys offices are funded from the exact same source at the exact same level.
I would pass a law forbidding criminal fines and proceeds from asset forfeiture by law enforcement agencies to be used in any way to support the operations of police, district attorneys, or courthouses.
I would institute accountability reforms for what state money for public education is allowed to be spent on by local school districts (primarily to put a cap on the maximum administrators per pupil ratio.)
I would raise the requirements of TOPS to a 3.5 GPA OR 24 ACT.
End Medicaid Expansion

- Push to legalize and tax marijuana. All tax proceeds go to school system.
- Food stamps could only be used for healthy food and drinks
- Overhaul TOPS to increase GPA and require in-state employment of some sort post graduation
- Get rid of state constitution
- Transparency of where all tax revenue is going
- Close down 2-3 colleges
- End bussing
- Invest savings in infrastructure and education
You got my vote.

Some good ideas along with some terrible ideas.
Looks like pretty much par for the course in LA.
No one said raise business taxes. Which we should be doing at this point.

Become financially responsible.
Clean house at BRAC.
They are to me like salesmen.
If they do not close x amount of deals they are gone.
EBRPCOA is gone.
Audit all these state non for profits.
Anyone breaks the law make sure the Attorney general makes them accountable.
Let LDWLF keep their oil revenue and buy up more land in high demand areas to make this a hunting and fishing paradise.
Cut all coastal restoration funding and hold it in an account. If the landowners in these area will not work with the state on public access to water where they will not be held liable for accidents do not release funding. Use it on state lands only.
Clean house at LSP.
When an officer speeds non emergency at over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone Livonia, LA. This helps cause an accident. That officer has no business wearing the uniform.
Work on cleaning house at LADOTD.
We have way too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
Look working out deals to build toll roads around BR, LAF area, and LC.
Clean house with overpaid bureaucrats and have them escorted off state property immediately. I would have a parade after we tar and feather them making them walk from the state capital to the old governors mansion.
Go after federal funding to work on infalstructure projects. Remind Trump this state carried him and use that funding for projects in parishes that supported Trump.
Look into Medicaid companies do business with the state to cut down on fraud.
Look into fresh water problems in South Louisiana. Build reservoirs around major cities for fishing and future drinking water. Keep some land public and sell some lots to my political buddies to profit.
Work on bringing steel consumer goood manufacturing back from the Mexico / Texas border. Work with railroads to have better options to reduce cost of rail lines going into BR.
Work on selling our rail, water transportation, and low wage workers to help these companies be competitive. Try to bring back older warehouse districts along the rail lines offering incentives to small business and midsize companies who would employ people either in mfg or warehouse jobs.
Work on aquaculture around the red river and help farmers get into this business selling catfish and plants.
Have gold chains, nice suits, hoes, and Cadillac with bull horns and gold rims on white wall tires. Have another white Cadillac, white suit, white hat, and smoke cigars. I will be at my favorite hangout the hoars nest.
Look into selling the fact we have cheap labor and reduce taxes on po towns in Cenla and NE LA. Go after low skilled jobs that pay decent to employ these people. Let these people get a shot at getting back to work. I would own the only bank in these towns and grocery stores.
I would switch out my hoes at the hoars nest on a weekly basis. I deserve the best.

As a governor, call a special session to re-organize the State's Constitution! /End thread!

Exactly. In this day and age there is absolutely no justification for SUNO and Grambling to exist. Total waste of money. Not sure about Grambling but SUNO’s graduation rates are abysmal.
Of course people like Gravy and his band of retards would fully meltdown at the mention of closing either of these places.

implement fair housing opportunities throughout the city. Oak Hills is way to bland and needs some soul.

And how exactly does that attract new business to a state already woefully short on Fortune 500 companies? Once you raise business taxes, more businesses will leave.

As Mayor:
Annex all non-incorporated parts of the parish into the city.
Hire more police.
ETA: Re-Open Southdowns in the same space with a "lease in perpetuity".
As Governor:
Legalize Marijuana
Constitutional convention to get rid of all the goddamn constitutionally dedicated money
Get rid of all private prisons
Reinstate Higher Education funding to Pre-Jindal levels in exchange for closing ULL (because frick those baws), SUNO, and Northwestern or turning them into 2-year colleges;
Make TOPS needs and merit based.
Institute a modicum of corporate taxation and lose most corporate tax credits.
Make the rich pay their fair share.
Raise teacher and first responder pay to southern average.
Get rid of stupid Jindal school voucher program. What a fricking joke that is.
Fill my cabinet with SJWs from Seattle, LA, Austin, San Francisco--just to piss off the mouth breathers on the TD Poli Board
Institute a policy of all-inclusiveness and non-discrimination in all state hiring
Install ACLU branch office in the State Capitol
Ban Bro Country
Name Dr. John as Poet Laureate
Statue of Louis Armstrong where Robert E. Lee once stood
Officially name LSU as the Flagship University of the State.
Stop paying sports teams with state money. If they go, frick em.
Official Governor's Vehicle: Blown 69 Camaro Convertible painted Metal Flake Midnight Blue on Cragar SS 5 Spokes.
Finally, I would continue living in my house and use the Governor's Mansion to house refugees from places like Darfur, Syria, and other "s-hole countries". Once again, to piss off the mouth breathers on the Poli Board.

I would hire 640 welfare administrators at 45k (29mm) and pay $10 for a drug test for each of the 800,000 recipients. (8m). To make sure the working poor don't smoke devils lettuce after a long days work. It would be worth 40 million to bust 800 individuals even if it cost half the total budget of 100mm in state welfare

that's a winner...you would be surprised how that message would resonate with working class and white collar types...however you would get less than 15% of the entitled vote...but still a winner
