Is this supposed to be some kind of logic?

So giving the keys away means I can still get shot, but if I pull out a gun I’m going to shoot and kill them and there is zero chance anyone else, including myself, is harmed in the process?

If there are 2 or 3 dudes with guns drawn, and you only have 1, you're basically guaranteeing death for you, your wife, and your kids.

There are no good options but in that scenario, the best chance you have to save your kids is to get out of the car and give them the keys and hope for the best. In your scenario, it's MUCH more likely your kids are getting shot.

It definitely doesn't guarantee anything, but it's the most likely way to not get shot.

People are carjacked every day and don't get shot, so no this is not correct as an absolute.

All 3 go the same way:

It’s all yours. Let’s keep this low key so you guys can get away. Tell them to keep guns down and voices low so we avoid attention.

If family is with me, family comes out my door. I pull them out one by one, keeping voice calm and low, updating the thugs by telling them we’re almost out. As each one exits I tell them to move toward the rear of the car, head to the sidewalk and keep going. I grab the last one, tell the thugs it’s all theirs and start running with the last one.

We’re running because the engine will kill once the key fob in my pocket gets a certain distance away. I trigger the alarm and we enter the closest building. My dash cam will have video.

Call 911 and report location, height, clothing description , skin color, direction they fled, and description of any vehicle they arrived in or exited in.

If any of them follow me into the nearby building, I put the phone down, and greet them with gunfire. Double tap, center mass. As each one drops, I assess location of others, describing it out loud to phone speaker. If time and safe distancing permits, I slide gun away from dropped thugs, telling them the next round goes straight into their dick if they do anything other than lay still on the floor with their hands out.

As each one bleeds out, I tell them what pieces of shite they are, how much I hope they will be paralyzed for life and suffer greatly from severe infection. I continue with the insults that focuses on everything except skin color. I will loudly ask if anyone is a doctor or nurse (for the benefit of the recording and witness testimony), but I will also tell the thugs how much blood is coming out their new holes, how big the holes are, and describe the likely damage to their internal organs. This trash talking continues until cops or paramedics arrive.

After the scene is cleared, I’d probably regret not pissing on each of their dying bodies. But maybe I need to rethink that and insert that move somewhere into the above scenario.
