The peace-loving Cherokee Nation would have come into contact with the similarly-inclined Blackfeet and formed a supertribe of people living in harmony with nature. Bison would gladly sacrifice themselves to feed the new nation. Children would laugh and play with puppies, serene in the knowledge that the White Man would never trouble them.

I would think much less technologically advanced and a bit more environmentally conscious.

I think the population would be bigger than most think, and there would be very large cities at major ports similar to now, but of course without the urban development.

It's a silly hypothetical though because some major more advanced overseas civilization would have found it and taken over if the Europeans wouldn't have. That's the consequences of lagging in technology.
