If I'm showing symptoms, I'm getting tested. Not so much for my benefit, but for the benefit of people around should I have it. Especially my wife who has a compromised immune system.

Another question - if in the future someone in your family gets a cough, will you again keep everyone home while that person gets tested?

Or are you jaded that you took off work/school out of precaution for a mild symptom?

No, I'm not jaded. I did what I thought was best for my family and for society at large. Its a pretty minor inconvenience.

Given the same scenario I'd do it again, yes. If there's not a pandemic involving a respiratory-borne virus, no I probably wouldn't. During flu season I probably would, depending on symptoms and circumstances.

Fulton County was offering free self testing by my office the other day. I got tested because worst case I learn I am asymptomatic and can keep away from at risk people, best case it’s negative and I drive positivity numbers down.

Whole family got tested last Monday due to symptoms. Positive results last Wednesday for all 3 of us. Have felt extreme fatigue with a little cough. Not necessarily feeling bad, just tired. We are all feeling better today and hope to be back to normal in the next few days.

I have to get tested twice a week in order to attend in person class at MIT full time MBA. I can choose to attend class on zoom and avoid testing, but the MBA experience would suck.

My wife and I got tested before traveling to visit my 83-year-old mom. Didn't want to expose her. Not a big deal, but results took 3 days.

What’s really the incentive to get tested unless you’re so sick you need to use government mandated covid days?

I'm around at risk people at work and my parents are over 60. So I'd rather not give them covid if I'm having symptoms...

Going in about an hour.

Feeling like shite and I'm around too many people to be sued.

If I'm positive, I get to frick off for 2 weeks

Absolutely nothing. Wife got a steroid shot from the family Dr., but daughter and I have had nothing except for a few Tylenol.
