so you would not get tested, because we all know a true ot 10 does not exist.

What’s really the incentive to get tested unless you’re so sick you need to use government mandated covid days?

Came back from a trip and had a bad dry cough.....thought I had it and got tested: Negative......was just a cold.

I had symptoms back in August and got tested bc I work in healthcare. Wasn’t a big deal at all. We have rapid swabs at our clinic so it was free and convenient.

I've been tested 6 times since March. We have to take two tests before we come offshore. What's the big deal?

I do a self nasal swab (not the brain scraping one) weekly as part of a huge COVID study U of A is doing with the CDC for the next year or two. They will also test the swab for flu during flu season. I swab on Mondays and get my results usually by that Friday.

I can help contribute to important scientific research and know my status on a regular basis. I have to be around my father (who has multiple health issues and would likely not do well if he got COVID) to take him to all his medical appointments (which seems to be every month). So it gives me some piece of mind that I’ll know my status when I’m around him.

If I wasn’t doing the study I would test if I had any symptoms.

My sister had to get one before her endoscopy next week. If she’s positive, she’s asymptomatic.

I guess I’d get one for something like that. Or if I had to have it to go back to work.

That is not a pleasant experience. Had it done back in January after visiting family in Seattle when I came down with a fever/cough/body aches. Everything came back negative (tested for two flu strains and something else I can't remember) and the doctor had no clue what it could be.

Of course looking back now I'm pretty sure what it was.

if it were worse then the regular flu, which its not, so i wont

the ONLY reason they are desperate fort people to line up to be tested is so they can say how many new cases they found so the lock down and stupid mask restrictions must continue for 10 more years. its all to keep the absolute power they now have to burn the constitution and deny your rights

Having symptoms would probably be enough for me to go get tested. Or to have had a really significant chance of catching it from a known carrier.

Not really concerned if I am diagnosed or not, just don't want to risk spreading it to someone who it could actually hurt.

I take the same approach with the flu though.

I’ve tested for various reasons (all but one asymptomatic). The UofL Co-Immunity Project. Once before a medical procedure. Two more times because I had contact with a potential positive case and I help care for my Mom who is immunocompromised due to chemo and wanted to be sure I was negative.

Once because I had to make a visit to an ER due to a medication reaction. Because one of the symptoms I was having due to the reaction was a potential COVID-19 symptom they tested me.

I’ve been tested 3 times bc of work (medical field) and I have to get tested again before I go out of the country next month. It’s not a big deal.

I guess the big deal is that if you test positive, you and your family has to stay home two weeks. Even for mild to no symptoms.

Well no shite....because you could be infectious to others

Some of us would rather not be the outbreak monkey and possibly infect someone vulnerable

You sound like the type of guy to show up at work with the flu and not tell anyone.
