What would happen if I stopped removing junk mail from my mailbox?

Why am I obligated to deal with junk that businesses want to mail to my house?

I didn’t request they send it to me. So why am I on the hook to clean it out of the box and dispose of it after the USPS puts it there?

USPS leaves you a note and stops delivering your mail.

I do it any time the mail lady pisses me off

I have not stayed in a Holiday inn Express in sometime, so bear with me. I think eventually your mailbox will get full of junk mail, and then the post office would quit delivering mail to you.

Please don't quote me on this.

I haven't checked the mailbox at my work apartment in 5 years.

I hope one day those government workers will take a hint but I think I have high expectations that won't produce results.

If I order something feims Amazon I have it sent to work(if I need it that week) or home if I can wait till the weekend.

I used to get notes on my door about cleaning out my mailbox but I'd throw those in the trash.

I just keep my trash can on street next to the mailbox. Easy out easy in. Sure my neighbors might think its trashy but its been a few years now, just normal coarse of business.

I have done it, and they jam it in there until it's completely full (mail falling out), and then stop. After a while, they will put a sticker on your mailbox that says to empty it

I’m not an expert but wouldn’t it be easier to just remove your mailbox?

If you'd have checked your mail you might have been this lady.

Oh well, too bad

There are 400 people in the whole God damned town. There are 30 down my road 10 miles from town. She misdelivers my mail a few times a month and refuses to deliver packages.

The young black girl before this bloated creature we have now was amazing.

They will stop delivering your mail and leave a note on your door to go to the post office to pick up your mail.

Then if you don’t pick up the mail they will start leaving pipe bombs under your cars

-- You want to look for "Business Reply Mail" envelopes, which are provided by many companies who want information back from you. These make perfect targets because the amount of money charged to the company depends on 2 main things, Weight and routing code.

Well, business reply mail is supposed to only contain one sheet of paper... If it is over a certain weight, the company is charged extra by the post office. I like to use shredded paper (thank you staples) from my paper shredder. It is lightweight, but you can pack lots into the envelope. After you put in a nice little note saying that the company can "STOP SENDING ME THESE FU**ING LETTERS", pack as much shredded paper into the envelope as you can. Then, duct tape the envelope closed (packing tape also works, but it is lighter.

--the routing code is what tells the post office where the letter is supposed to go (for machine sorting). If BRM doesn't have this code, the company is charged more.

All you need to do is take a black magic marker to this code, and all of a sudden, they lose more money.

--Write nasty things about the company on the envelope (no obscenities :D) you may as well give the postal workers who have to hand sort your envelope a laugh.

Drop into a postal box, and your done.

I do this about once a month, saving up all of the business reply mail envelopes and shredded papers
