What will the oscars do about their best actor versus actress categories?

Since differentiating by gender is now out of fashion, how are they going to choose whether someone is in the actor versus actress category? Or will it be offensive that they have categories that are gendered at all?

those who identify as women will be eligible for both categories
those who identify as men will be eligible for the actor categories only
those who identify as men will be eligible for the actor categories only

As a man, I'd identify as gender fluid and throw my name into both categories.

In one of the more insensitive decisions made by Hollywood/media conglomerates, back in 1992, the Chicago Film Critics Association nominated Jaye Davidson as both "Most Promising Actor" and "Most Promising Actress" for his role in The Crying Game. He is merely a gay man who was cast in the role of a transgender woman. He lost both awards.
The MPAA nominated him for Best Actor in a Supporting Role that year.
