Well, I was born in a small town. And I grew up in a small town.

I'll probably die in a small town.

Well I was born in a small town
And I live in a small town
Probably die in a small town
Oh, those small communities
All my friends are so small town
My parents live in the same small town
My job is so small town
Provides little opportunity
Educated in a small town
Taught the fear of Jesus in a small town
Used to daydream in that small town
Another boring romantic that's me
But I've seen it all in a small town
Had myself a ball in a small town
Married an L.A. doll and brought her to this small town
Now she's small town just like me
No I cannot forget where it is that I come from
I cannot forget the people who love me

Pretty freaking great. Every kids grows up together and you have a tighter bond with your classmates. Much more community events to (block parties, neighborhood gatherings). I found it to be (substantially) safer and friendlier.

Thibodaux is a chill place but thought me to hate everyone. Small towns usually are dogmatic.

Banjos, snake handling poison drinkers, pickups driving too fast on windy dirt roads, intra-familial relations, wal-mart, one country music channel, and a gas station that acts as the town square.

Yes, in a small town, everybody knows everybody.

For example:

In Shreveport, if I go somewhere to dinner I half way expect to see at least one person or couple I know also out to dinner. In a small town, you know every person in the restaurant every time.

Grew up in LaPlace. Wasn't bad growing up. Now that I'm older, I prefer living in a bigger city like Baton Rouge.

I have zero interest in ever going back though, unless it's to visit my mother.

Couldn't have been all that great. Couldn't imagine seeing the same people day in and day out.

Yeah, you'd go to the football game, then after the football game go party somewhere in the woods with a bonfire.

Usually festivals at the church or school would have a hayride. School would do a Halloween carnival every year as a Jr. Class fundraiser.

Everyone drove trucks pretty much.

Not much else to say, I suppose

We had to provide on own entertainment sometimes but it was easy with all the "city girls" we could pick up in our muddy trucks.
