Mine makes a great place for my 5 snakes’ cages.
And before that it held my two sportbikes just fine.

I'm getting a piano for mine soon. That way, instead of having a room with a table that no one uses, I'll have a room with a piano that no one uses.

Dedicated room to host sales seminars for whatever multi level marketing product your wife sells at the moment. Set up lighting to make videos. Your friends will love it.

We're having a new house built. There's a space next to the kitchen designated dining room. We're going to turn it into a wine and beverage room. It will be a nice space when we entertain to put a small island in and serve apps and drinks. My wine fridges and storage will be in that space.
It's an open area and not an enclosed room.
ETA: It's an open floor plan with kitchen, breakfast area, dining room and great room all open to each other. We'll use the breakfast area for all dining as it's 14' X 12'. I see no reason at all for two eating areas with 20 feet of each other in a large open area.

Dining. We each sit in the end chairs as I talk like Bill Buckley.
