This is what happens when men let their wives and children choose the dog breed

He believes, in his mind, he is the pack leader. He is the dominant one. You and your wife should be submissive (in his mind).

What to do with an aggressive dog?

Exercise. Exercise. And more exercise. Daily. Multiple times a day, if necessary. Exercise will alleviate a lot of behavioral issues.

Dogs live in the moment. This is why this occurs.

Does your dog eat when he wants to eat (food kept out)? Does your dog have freedom to move around the house as he pleases? Does your dog jump up on furniture without any correction? Does your dog lead you in and out of your house when going outside to use the bathroom or exercise?

All of these things can be corrected. That's the good news. The bads news is that all of this requires work -- and daily interaction, exercise, stimulation and correction.

I highly recommend that if you can't watch your young kids around him that you put the dog up behind an enclosure until you get a better handle on the situation.
