I heard about this on a local radio show and they were pumping it up about teaching tackling fundamentals etc...but at 8500$ good lord! Figured we could all bash it together.

I could use one of those to train my dog.

Any chance we see a purple and gold one running around the indoor practice facility?

Hmmm? At first I thought it was goofy but there are some drills where that guy could help. Not sure about the whole 'never tackling' except for games philosophy. I'd have to see that one play out statistically. Even in Mountain Biking, I can jump all the ramps I want but when I'm fresh back to jumps in the woods, my injury rate goes way up.

the better question is "how is Buddy Teevens still coaching college football?"

It's a Lot worse than the public knows when it' comes to retired pro football players.
This is a good idea in my opinion

They had these on Hard Knocks last season with the Rams.

Well, thank God that wasn't around when I was in HS...I wouldn't have seen even the practice field.

I'm sorry, all I got from that was the coach saying "My guys never tackle in practice. They tackle 10 times a year in games."
WTF
also, it seemed like the bottom of that device was hard, and had no give. Seems like that would suck to land on top of

A guy with the company that made it was on a local radio show yesterday saying they can go 15+ mph and that you can use them for db practice and it could reduce injuries in the way too by not having a player making that hard cut. I think they're pretty cool

Down voted because of this
You're not clever or original, and not going to start a trend by putting the $ after the number.

they have "smart Chips" built in that give data on how hard, velocity, force, and where exactly they were hit for feedback to coaches and players....pros have been using them for 3 or so yrs now.

How much will it suck when you miss the tackle on this dummy, or the person controls it F's with you and makes you look like a fool.
With that being said, I think it's a great tool and could save some practice injuries.
