My wife likes the furniture at Crate and Barrel and Ethan Allen. So we don't go anywhere near those stores if I can help it.
I like comfy slightly overstuffed furniture. I goes with my preference for darker rooms. Think brown leather couch and lots of dark wood and masonry and you'll get the picture.
This is kind of cool. Too much light IMO.
And that giant ottoman thing in the middle is weird looking.

Considering it's your home and the amount of money you're about to spend, id pick something that I personally liked as opposed to what some internet dweebs like.
I can guarantee when I get my house, I will go to the store and pick out the most comfortable furniture I can.
Also without knowing the style of the house and what it looks like, it's hard to even give you an idea.

I just buy Ashley because I'm a cheap arse. The shite lasts about 5-6 years and that's good enough for me right now.

just grab a couple magazines, see which one you like best. Z gallarie, pottery barn, restoration hardware (which is the shite, but not affordable, but good ideas). Elle decor is impressive how they can take the most eclectic, gaudy pieces and make it look like a million dollar room. Don't be worried about mixing styles, and don't be to set on getting all matching pieces.

What is your idea of serious coin? Are we talking 5k per room, 20k? Or are we talking true OT baller status where price doesn't matter?
On a more serious note, if you are spending a lot of money, stay away from the trendy stuff that will be out of style in just a couple years. I like looking at Houzz. You can plug different styles into the filter to see what you come up with.

Antique. If I could afford it everything in my house would be.
Oh and fwiw we're buying all new furniture for our new home that's about to be complete. It's Acadian style with a very open floor plan. My advice, if you have young kids, is not to spend a fortune on couches, recliners, etc. Either you'll bitch at them every day or say frick it and get new shot every yr. I'm making my wife pick cheaper brands because I know we will be replacing in 3-4 yrs. Spend the extra money on something like a dining room set that will actually be there for yrs and not get destroyed.

I know you don't want twin beds, but these are a great example of 1880-1900 mahogany beds. Mucho pesos.
