There use to be a good place on Government Street across from BR High, but it closed recently. I would check with the hobby place on Airline between Florida and Academy.

Working order is irrelevant to a collector - condition and boxes are what controls.

I only collect pre WWII stuff unless it is a Lionel boxed set with all boxes in LN condition.

There is a model train store/museum in Ponchatoula on 51 just south of Acadian Cypress. Call them or go there

Electric Train Depot in Hammond...ask for Jeff Fowler, the owner. This is one of the best train shops in the south--really.

I know a thing or two about electric toy trains...this is my set up...it is O-gauge (Lionel).

Nice layout - I'd love to see the Daylight running around those wide radius curves.

I'm a collector, but mostly standard gauge stuff.

That is a beautiful Blue Comet in Standard Gauge! I have had my eye on one for a few years in O Gaige. I should pull the trigger on it--one of the prettiest trains ever to ride the rails...
