What percentage of elderly people do you think are addicted to drugs?

For this discussion define elderly as anyone beyond 70 or so.

They get really addicted in the end when doctors just morphine them to death.

At my last job, the patients we saw from nursing homes were all on tons of meds- and not just standing orders for PRN use... opiods, SSRIs, HCTZ and a stool softener was almost assumed to be on the med list. I think they're just prescribed to shut the poor old people up.

Doctors have elderly on so many pills, that it's laughable
Many years ago, my first job was at a walgreens type place for the summer. The elderly had so many pills and paid so much f'in money.
$500 here, $450 there, just for their 2 pills, a piece.

My 70 yr. Old mother loves her morphine pills. She gets one a day given by my sister because my mom isn't allowed to have the bottle. She's been addicted for 13 years now.
