As many as possible.

I'm nearly done with French and I just started learning Spanish.

Not anymore. Once I became comfortable enough in French I hired a tutor on Italki just to have someone to talk to. I also signed up for formal Spanish lessons on Italki.

I probably should have stuck with Spanish on Duolingo since it's best for people that are starting a new language.

Estonian....so I know what my wife is saying when she is pissed off!
Seriously though, it's hard language to learn and a lot of language apps and companies don't have it...aka Rosetta Stone.

So your specifications for this thread are purposely designed to exclude Alabama residents?

Cause let's face it: they ain't exactly speaking the Queen's English over there.

I can't imagine trying to learn to read English as a foreigner. All of our weird spelling shite and double-meanings within the same word must be insane to understand well.

Just about every language has some rules that are just batshit insane. Mark Twain wrote a pretty good essay about how much he hated German, for example, and every time I go back and read it I wonder how anyone could ever learn it without just being immersed in it from birth.

Arabic is pretty crazy, too. One dog is kelb. Multiple dogs are keelab... unless it's just two dogs, in which case you use kelban. Then you have a similar word qelb, with is the heart, but the pluralization rules are completely different. Multiple hearts are something like qoolboo.

If there's a pattern to any of that shite I haven't found it. Basically, you just end up learning all three versions of each noun.
