Mind control
I don't know about mind control, but their specialty at the time was brain imaging, and they were really really secretive about it. I don't know if they are secretly or nefariously in league with the government, but if I found out that mind control had been developed, this would be the first place I'd suspect it happened.
All I know is that I wanted to get the frick out of there ASAP, feeling like if I'd stumbled into the wrong room, I'd never be seen again.
