You can now be both. Rejoice!
Or business owners, who are far more successful than you'll ever be.
If you only have 5 people qualified on paper for a job, chances are you'll like none of them, and will be re-advertising after interviews.

I work in the environmental permitting space for an energy company. We are finding candidates, either the qualified ones want more than we can offer or to work remotely.
Our CEO is against remote work, and just issued a Vax mandate despite 20% of employees in the company passing on a $1,000 incentive and remaining unvaxed. I figure even the ones that get the jab by the end of the year to keep their job will be leaving as soon as possible, so there will be even more empty spots to fill.

I've worked nearly every weekend the past 10 months because they can't find anyone, and I'm sick of it. I don't mind pulling my weight during the week and working a few extra hours here and there, but screw working nearly every weekend.
Working all the weekends definitely gets old. It's ok if:
1. You know you will be rewarded quite well for it financially.
2. You know it's not forever.

I'm the 20-something year old CPA who still works in public accounting over industry
What about busy season? Doesn't everybody still work every weekend for Jan - Apr (tax and audit).
I'm an old CPA. LOL! When I was young, everyone left public accounting to get better hours in industry!
Oh and we are constantly hiring the following:
Nurses
CNA's
Housekeeping (EVS)
