Ace, Ive tried to clarify numerous times. I am not against college education. As a matter of fact, I pay out of my pocket for different functions for local kids to try to help them get to college.

College is not a bad thing, but it is not a good place for a spiritual person who doesn't have extremely strong faith.

I really feel sorry for people like you when the Lord does come back and takes us all away

Thanks for your sympathy..its is not needed though. But in return I will extend my compassion and understanding for you when the hallucinations of insane man dictate what you believe is actually going to happen.

You sound like those creepy as people that commit mass murders for Jesus to do his work and cleanse the world

Up with the rain too huh? I don't think I'm creepy lol.

ETA: I'd be willing to bet if you had seen the things I have seen then you would share my passion.

I thought for sure everyone on here had read them by now. I try to not repeat myself 500 times.

I'll try to make it super short. My life has been unique to say the least. From atheist to believer, from unsympathetic sinner to a sinner with a guilty conscience.

About 4 or 5 years ago I kept having these weird episodes when asleep. Freaked my wife out bad and she's not very emotional normally. We bought a digital recorder to record these times. Well conveniently enough, they stop once a recorder was present. At least in my dreams...

I woke up one night and my young son was crying in his room..... It was about 2 am I guess.... It was just down the hall so I jumped up to go check. After standing beside his crib for maybe 30 seconds the hair on the back of my neck began to stand up.

It's a long story even if I try to shorten it, are you sure you want me to type it out? I don't wanna "creep you out" lol

Well some real weird noise started coming from the living room. It woke my son up instantly. The best way I could describe it is to say that it sounded like some old musical instrument that I've never heard before. It was 3 distinct sounds, over and over. By the time I run to the hallway, I notice my wife has popped out of bed and so has the 13 year old. We're all four of us now instantly awake and in the hallway. I hand my son to my wife and run to grab a knife from the kitchen, and also moving closer to the sound.

This sound was different than a normal sound. It was pervasive. It's like I could feel the noise. It was just as loud in a bedroom as the hallway and the kitchen, but you could surely tell the direction of origin. So I lead the way to the source. It was coming from the area of an old recliner we had, kind of a hand-me-down thing. It sounded like the noise was coming from thin air, actually a few feet above the thing. I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that was no natural sound. At the time, I kind of look to my wife and the kids like "yeah right, is this really happening"?

I figure it's got to be an old toy stuck in it or something right? I proceed to take the knife and give this chair an autopsy. I gutted it. I sliced every imaginable cushion and crease open, I completely ruined it.

The noise never stopped. There was nothing in the chair. The noise had been going on for about 30 minutes now. This was about 3 am. It's the middle of the night..... It doesn't seem to be a threat..... The wife and kids go lay back down. I sit up positioned so that I can see this thing from a distance, still clutching the knife.

The noise kept steady, unchanging for another hour straight.

It finally stopped, but I was unable to sleep. This was my first "unnatural" or whatever you want to call it experience. It would be one thing if I dreamed this up in my head, but my wife and kids experienced it too.

Did record the sound or anything? No video no nothing even though it went on for that long. I always understand when people don't have phones or cameras up for something that happens instantly. But something that went on for this long seems like you would have thought of it.

And I am in no way bashing your story. I am a huge believer that there is a lot of things that happen that we can't explain for one reason or another. Even nothing out of the ordinary has ever happened to me so far.

Nah, I kick myself for it now, but in the heat of the moment I was locked in on the sound, to the exclusion of everything else. I'm not sure I blinked

Subtle brag about owning a recliner. Yeah we're all very impressed.

In before a "Musical Chairs" reference.

I'm not saying that I doubt your story, Edward, but I don't believe your story.

But you tell it so well.

Fair enough, but if you know me well enough to know my legal name, I doubt you would see me as the type of person that's into fairy tales.

Was it blues coming from the upholstery? You know it was Sinatra who was called the "Chairman of the (in this case) Bored"?
