Why do you assume a "tyrannical gov't" has to be the US gov't?

Lol what? A tyrannical government is one that turns against its own people. So if your implying a local or state government will do so, that’s even crazier.

If you are referring to a foreign government, than you’re just an idiot.

I used this scary looking "assault rifle" to kill a chicken snake today.

Guess what...it's only a .22

So you would be ok if your kids or friends were killed by a 9 mm pistol ? Bc that’s what would happen. Banning AR-15’s isn’t going to stop mass shootings. Look at Virginia Tech. There is nothing that is going to stop mass shootings except magic. Like snap your fingers and all the guns in the world disappear

Perhaps I'm exaggerating, but wouldnt 1-2 a year be enough to consider putting that particular type of weapon aside? I understand "well, we would like to have it in the even of a government wide militia event where they seek to kill all citizens ", but it seems to me (and perhaps I'm a fool) that one might follow it with "but I'm going to give up that type of weapon for the time being because the government of the most properous country in the world mass-killing its citizens, does not seem particularly imminent to me, and I'm guessing I may be able to predict in advance when something like this may occur so I could take other measures to mitigate my risk against such an event". But hey, I'm just someone who would like to see my kids or friends not killed in a mass murder. Eh, you know

Attackers would just use something else.

Thats what you are failing to grasp.

You are solving nothing.....

The odds of that happening are now miniscule. .

Rog, you know we're still in the kneejerk reaction phase of the biannual US mass shooting.

You really think these headcase kids like Cruz wouldn’t have carried 3-4 pistols and killed the same amount? If AR-15’s were banned, you think all of Cruz’s anger and confusion goes away?

How many criminals plan their murder rampages based on the rule of law?

That's one of the most accurate .22s you can buy. Love that little "assault rifle"

So you really think that one of these loons would say, oh well if I can't get my hands on that AR-15 I've been seeing everyone else use I guess I can't shoot up my school too. No, he wouldn't just stop there because he's fricking crazy. He'd go get extended magazines for another type of semi automatic weapon and use that instead.

Common argument.

I'm no genius but here's my response---
Making it harder to obtain and find, and more easily tracking those that search to buy one aside --- perhaps you're right, those that want to kill are going to try and kill. But, if these measures make it more difficult to obtain an automatic assault weapon - it gives law enforcement (or similar ) more time track and monitor these individuals and possibly intercept them.

More likely - these people act on impulse. They just attempt to carry out thier mission with a less-deadly, more readily available weapon. And the damage is somewhat mitigated. A killing of 3 is some degree less tragic than the killing of 20, right? Anything to help. Again, what is the risk? See my previous posts.

Because I have 2 branches of responses, as applicable.

Calling out a mouth breather doesn't mean I lean left.

The problem with many on this board is that when you agree with them, it goes unnoticed, but the few times you have differing opinions, you get labeled a libtard.
