For small towns, absolutely. Some of the best there are.
But be prepared to fly or take boats to many.
Juneau has a good food scene, most of the smaller towns have all local establishments with no fast food.
Food is alright, seafood, etc. I would never plan a vacation around it though.

Grand Isle
The Outrigger in Grade Isle in the mid '80s was an automatic confrontation for any 18-30 year old from out of town, especially if you were from BR or NO. You never went in there with less than 3 friends and you either fought or you left, but you were going to be confronted 100%. Hell, I almost got my arse kicked at the Bridgeside Marina store pre-dawn before fishing simply for saying hello to some island gee-gee as I walked out.

I stopped in Sorrento in the mid 80s for gas once and felt like I had infiltrated some weird cult.

Rural or southern hospitality has always been somewhat of a myth but especially now that things are so political.
Rich suburbs on the other hand… claim to appreciate diversity just not in their hood.
Downvote away but California wine country and outside of LA and San Fran are the most laid back and easy going people in my experience. The locals and tourist industry.

Domestically, shitty small towns in the south.

I imagine having multi million dollar properties just to produce wine might have something to do with that.
