It took you 3 attempts at this story to tell us that the dude got shot IN THE DICK?

You're a horrible storyteller.

Exactly. Why should I get stopped, do a field sobriety test, blow in a breathalyzer, and have them run my plates/license because there MIGHT be a drunk driver on the road.

Yeah, that's not quite how it works. They are not doing that for EVERY car in line, only the ones they have a reasonable suspicion of drinking and driving. That's not how they do it up here in North La anyways. I've been through 2 and the worst that happened was I was asked to show my license.

The victim did not die but did lose the use of his dick. Gene paid a fine of $500.00.

I think for me it will always be the Deepwater Horizon. I just got off a few days before. That was my home for almost 4 years. We lost 11 brothers that day. I was at the hotel in Kenner when they returned back to land, and the looks on their face I can still see to this day. I can still hear the families of the lost breaking down upon hearing who made it off and who didn't. Sometimes I feel guilt because I wasn't there and maybe I could have done something but in reality I know I couldn't. We just made it through our 7 year anniversary of that day and it still feels like yesterday. There was a bond on that rig that could not and will never be broken. It was a place you enjoyed going back to each hitch to see your brothers and talk about what you did on your off time. Not a single day goes by that I don't think of them and that day. Just about everyone still keeps in touch. We will never forget DWH 11

My earliest memories are waking up in the pitch dark to the sound of my mother screaming as my father beat the shite out of her. Unable to process the fear, anger and hatred, I shut down emotionally at a pretty young age.

911 did affect me, as did saying goodbye to my beloved grandmother for the final time.

Pretty much skate through life as a sociopath, like Dexter, without all the murder.

Exactly. They are not running through the gamut of field sobriety tests on a whole line of cars.

I was on a crash cart with a priest giving me the Episcopalian version of last rites, my parents crying, a punctured lung, and screaming in agony. I thought I was dying, in more pain than the rest of my life combined, and scared out of my mind. I know it's narcassitic, but I still have nightmares every now and then about that situation.

So I can't imagine what the parents go through and how y'all survive the tragedy.

Well, in my experience 15 years and 3 kids later my wife doesn't show affection towards her kids because she scared they leave her too. Me, I have battled through different chemical addictions trying to kill the pain. So yeah, it's fricked up.
