When my pawpaw committed suicide 2 years ago and that was the first time losing a grandparent. I was in shock and heartbroken. He was the comedian in the family and everybody loved him. I felt bad for my Mawmaw being they had made their 50th anniversary a year or two earlier. Also for my dad because he was so close to him and I hated to see my dad go through that.

I´m sure this stewardess´s boyfriend would consider this right up there.

people on this site d think that drinking and driving is no big deal. Pisses me off every time.
I hate that people get away with starting threads giving away location of police doing sobriety checks. I wish the admins would add that to forbidden behaviors on TD.

Friend of mine does this on Facebook. He's had 3 DUI's and had to have one of those breathing things on his car for a while.
It took financial and professional ruin for him to shape up.

I often wonder how many times those threads have made someone take a different route so as not to get caught and then an accident or worse has happened because of them on the new route. I'd guess that it's not something people would run here to post about so it would be difficult to figure out.

Attending the funeral of three kids, ages 18, 16, and 14, they were all siblings. The 18 year old was a classmate of mine.
That, and being at the bedside of my grandma when she passed away.
Tough times.

If fear is an emotion, then it has to be when my girlfriend and I were held up at gunpoint outside my apt in Tigerland. We drove in late one night from Shreveport and I was getting our bags out of the back of the truck and a car full of dindu nothings had pulled up unbeknownst to me. One walked up behind me with a gun and a mask on and demanded my wallet and her purse. I was a broke kid and returning back with money my parents gave me for Christmas. The thugs got it all. I was literally scared shitless. My gf had nightmares about that for a while and for a long time was scared in dark parking lots if anyone was coming towards her.
How have you never realized your GF was fricking one of these "dindu nothings"? Do you think it was just a coincidence that the one time you were robbed was the one time you were flush? Really?

I wish the fricking TV stations would report on it with live video from the scene. Those roadblocks/checkpoints are an infringement on civil liberties. They should not have the right to stop anyone unless they have probable cause to think they're doing something wrong.

Giving CPR to my deceased infant daughter..............

Words are terribly inadequate. Nonetheless, my condolences man.
Losing my nephew/Godson completely wrecked me. The few times I've lost pediatric patients have turned my world upside down.
So I can't imagine what the parents go through and how y'all survive the tragedy.

It wasn't the sport, it was just the moment being a culmination of so many negative things turning positive...
But that reopening moment in the superdome against the Falcons was as emotional of a situation that I can recall....the hurricane, the local pain and struggling, the rebuild process putting lives back together...then that night..the pregame complete with the video presentations, etc. Then ATLANTA and m Vick go 3 and out and we block the punt and our boy recovers for a touchdown!
It was truly a moment when so many people, in the building and out, released so much of the emotions.....it transcended the game. Grown men, women, kids, etc crying from pain, shouting for joy.
Any Louisiana resident in that building understands.

Those threads don't amount to shite! Drinks still do drunk stupid things. It does allow smart sober people to avoid those areas and possibly being harassed/detained for doing nothing.
Drunks don't FB while driving...it's apps like wade that show traffic stops..
Unfortunately, drunks are drunks and I'm all for police doing whatever to arrest them...but roadblocks stopping ALL traffic is why there are postings, included by police, letting people know.

Worked at a jet ski rental/parasailing place one summer. We had an area set up in the water marked by orange bouys for the jet skiers to operate in. The parasail boat was anchored just outside of this area, 31' boat. Obviously, the renters were told to steer clear of the large fricking boat that's sitting there.
In walks a couple of younger guys to rent 3 skis. I get them started and explain what to do/what not to do and send them on their way.
About 5 minutes later, a couple comes down and I'm explaining everything to them with my back to the water, well all of a sudden I heard 'WooooBOOM!!'
I look back, and one of the dudes crashed into the parasail boat at about 45-50 mph, I see the ski in the side of the boat but no person.
I haul arse to my ski and get out to him in about 30 seconds, dude was floating on his back, blood coming out of every hole in his face, I puked a little. He wasn't moving, breathing or anything. I grabbed his life jacket and took off for shore.
Guys mom was on the beach watching this all happen, but didn't know if it was her kid or not. I get him to the beach and she loses her shite. I still to this day have never heard a human scream like that.
Damn. Got chills reading this

Exactly. Why should I get stopped, do a field sobriety test, blow in a breathalyzer, and have them run my plates/license because there MIGHT be a drunk driver on the road.

Saw a woman commit suicide via 18 wheeler. That image is still seared into my brain.
